My Civic's brakes squeak (or squeal) when I back out of my garage for
the first time on any given day. No noise on shifting to "Drive" and
going forward, nor for the rest of the day on backing up. Same, warm or
cool weather. 10,000 mi of easy driving on the car.

    What might cause this?

The disks rust overnight. If you had mags, you could see a very thin layer
of rust on your disks. It gets cleaned when you brake for the first time in
the morning. You could also find out that the brakes are really "touchy"
(they bite in even tough you pressed the pedal gently) when you brake for
the first time in the morning.
