Any one get this recall regarding defective lubrication of the 2nd gear?
My 02 has 27K on it so I guess if there is heat discoloration on the 2nd
gear the tranny will be replaced, otherwise an oil jet will be installed.

Wasn't there an issue on the Accord autos as well? Is this the same issue?

  3. John -
It is decided upon by your VIN and the actual gear coloring. And to be
more truthful all 2002 - 03 Odysseys are included in the recall and should
be inspected. The 04 Odysseys are by VIN.

Here is my question to the group. I just purchased an 04 that is just
outside the VIN range by 247 units. How concerned should I be? If I should
go ahead and have it inspected at some time in the future, how many miles
    should I wait?

    Thanks

    issue?

Earlier Accords have had their transmission troubles and there have been
reports of Honda extending the warranty period on them. Extended warranties
are out on earlier model Ody tyrannies and a recall on current Ody, MDX and
Pilot transmissions. It seems that I've read about other ones (TL?) as
    well.

Honda seems to be having trouble with a high proportion of their automatic
transmissions. Maybe they need to start buying transmissions from someone
else instead of making them in house.

No. The Accord uses a different trans.
