    Two questions come to mind:

1- Any good shop manuals for this car that you can recommend from
experience for the weekend mechanic types? And where can they be
purchased and do you know the approx cost ?

2- Can just the wiper inserts be replaced without replacing the
cartridge assembly that holds the wiper insert from the original
wipers ? ( I had this problem on an old Corolla )

The best one is the one from Honda that is distributed by Helm. Get it at
www.helminc.com They usually run about $70 for Hondas.
If you look carefully at the tips, you will see there is rubber surrounding
the metal hooks on one end only. Grab the rubber at that end and pull. The
insert will slide out. The dealer and many parts stores carry replacement
inserts. In my experience, the OEM inserts from the dealer last about twice
as long as the aftermarket blades.
