No way I drive a 2004 accord and the car Will Not lock it self as you
    describe.
but it will relock it self within 30sec or so if you use your remote to
unlock it and don't open the door within 30 sec. or so.

    That's standard Honda behavior. Nice.

But the original claim is that "doors lock after she leaves the car,
without her activating the remote control". That's BROKEN. On a new
car, one should take that to the dealer to be fixed (after reading the
fine owner's manual to make sure one isn't doing something wrong).[/QUOTE]

Yes, my 04 doesn't do this. If I don't lock it, it stays that way.....

  3. Honda is not the only Japanese car maker whose vehicles do this automatically.

It will also shut the headlights off if you leave them on.

Nope, you're wrong...I had an EX...which model do you have?

It IS normal...however, it probably only does this if you have the
security system. I had an EX which has the security system standard. I
don't have the security system on my CR-V and it *does not* do this. It
does have the 30-second relock feature, however.

If you had a security system, it would do this...

I am not wrong. I have a V6 EX sedan with the security system and the car
does not lock it self as you describe, if it did I would bring it back to
the dealer to have it fixed!!!!!!!

They've all done that since at least 2000. I like that feature. Locking me
out is not something I would sign up for.

A very specific sequence of events is required:

    Get in your car.
Insert key in ignition and start it.
Put it in gear and move forward or backward a few feet (do this, but
    probably not necessary).

    Stop.
Shut the car off and remove the key from the ignition.
WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING (SUCH AS THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH), get out and close
    the door.

Watch it for a few minutes...it might take longer than 30 seconds.

Noboby, bring your car to the Dealer and have them fix the problem.

No. The security system realizes I walked away and forgot to lock the car
and locks it. My Acura (which is a Honda) RSX did exactly the same thing.

I'll try that. You very well may be right, since I always lock out of habit
    anyway.......

I wonder if it is like most of the other electronic features,
    programmable.
