Some Slap Di$k Backed into out new Accord, and it put a 3" whole in the bumper,
Not worried about it but it knocked the whole thing out of alignment with the
hood and headlights. And My wife has wanted this car sense she was 14, it only
has 3500 miles on it, It has a long life yet…

any one know where to hunt down body parts? I figure it is too early in this
body style to hunt in scrap yards. and I don't want to pay dealer prices or
    file with insurance.

so any advise? I can get it painted, if I can get the parts. I need a bumper
and the gray thingy just above it

You may want to get an estimate on how much it will cost to repair may be cheaper than going the other route.....Provided that there is no structural
damage, a new bumper will run you $193.86 (03 Accord Auto EX) + Shpping from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. Note that this bumper does not have any
paint or primer on it so that will cost you extra from your Honda/body shop.

Why don't you want to go the insurance route? It's not going to affect your
rates. But the resale value loss you take on the car later due to damage
    will bite you...

if the other person did it, you file with their insurance. unless it didnt
happen that way ;) or you dont have insurance...

It was a hit and run.

I will pay cash before I file on my insurance.

I parked behind a trailer, at a hotel. He was gone when we got up, and I did
not notice until I got home, But it is a perfect corner of a trailer punch out,
    no scraped paint or anything.

maybe his deductible is too high to cover the repairs.

Why not file insurance? A hit and run does not affect your rates.

Hit and run? Only IF the one that stuck your vehicle can be
found. That is a collision claim and will be charge to you, the
owner, as an at fault accident.. If a 'hit and run' could be
claimed without affecting rates everybody and his brother would
be claiming every time the bumped their vehicle. LOL

  12. It depends on your insurance company of course but as described that is a
"collision". Knowing how the insurance company lies to me, I'd be tempted
to claim it against comprehensive - IOW lie a little: "the truck in front
of me kicked up a piece of garbage - a piece of exhaust pipe I think - and
    it whacked my bumper".

I dimpled my front bumper a year ago: $503 to fix, and I have a $500
deductible. I had it fixed at the same time I put in a no-fault claim
for being sideswiped by a tractor trailer, so I reached $3 farther
into my pocket and didn't claim it.

Dude...how old IS your wife? I am assuming that she is 14 since it is still
'03 Model Year. High hopes huh?

My advice would be to get up and call some wrecking yards in the area to see
if maybe they DO have a front bumper cover...mainly the import yards.
OR you could call the body shop and see how much they could get you one
    for....
OR you could go around and get a few estimates from 3 or 4 body shops and
compare the reapair price with your deductible.
Are you going to do the bodywork/paint/change yourself or pay someone to do
    it for you?
