17 x 7.5 rims on a Civic Si 2003?

  1. I plan to put 17 x 7.5 inch rims (SSR Competition) and 215/45R17 tires
on a 2003 Honda Civic Si. Has anyone else here put rims this wide on
a Civic Si, and did you have any clearance problems? According to
www.tirerack.com, where I found them, they will fit the Civic.
Otherwise they would not list them, right? Thanks.

We recently bought a '99 Civic coupe (not SI) with 17's and I *think*
the same size tires. As they weren't mounted by us, I'm not sure of the
width on this wheel. We have no clearance problems with our setup. I
thought there'd be rubbing on tight turns, but so far, no problemo.
Right. Tire Rack is a wonderful on-line tire store. Look at their
installer guide to see if someone close to you is listed. My local guy
received the tires, held them for us until we could get the car to them
for mounting. The procedure was painless.
Blow a call into them to settle your curious mind.
