1984 Civic engine noise.

  1. I have a 1984 Honda Civic that I bought off my brother for $150. At that price,
I sure can't expect much, but I do know full well that he drove it about 1000km
a week sometimes.. Fairly often too.

Anyways, he sold it to me because he moved away, and drove it up until that day.
It sat in my driveway for about 5 months while I got some shit together and got
my license. I made a point to start and run it at least 3 times a week for
    about 15 minutes each time.

Today I was out for a drive and I noticed this odd rattleing sound coming from
the bottom of the engine. I also noticed that my oil light kept coming on. I
took the car home and checked the oil - there was too much, and it was dirty as
hell (I'd forgotten to look at it while it was sitting). Needless to say, I
    changed the oil right away.

After that, I gave it another spin, and the noise returned. The funny thing is,
it doesn't happen when first starting the car. It only happens after it's been
driven a while, and happens both when the car is moving and when stopped or in
    neutral. (5 speed manual)

My brother thinks its the oil pump..

What do you guys think? Thanks a lot!
