Leak smells like coolant not gasoline. Just started. Any idea what I am
    dealing with?

Coolant has no business being near the fuel tank but maybe it traveled
    there somehow.

Park the car on some news paper and run it. You should be able to see
    where it is leaking.

Probably rusted low-pressure fuel return lines.

If it's genuinely coolant, it's from somebody whose engine was parked over
that location prior to you. No coolant at the back of the car.

That's what I did. You'll never know what I found out. My trunk has a
hole in it. I had filled my radiator with coolant earlier. Placed the
remaining coolant in the trunk--top was not completely on--you know the
    rest of the story.

    Talk about be stupid.

    Thanks for the reply

that's not stupid - that's smart. you got it figured out. some
mechanics would ding you for a new gas tank and you'd never be wiser.

Great! Good to hear it wasn't anything to worry about. That's not
    stupid.
If that hole is not supposed to be there, you may want to put some rust
resistant paint (POR15, etc) if there is rust and pop a filler grommet
    in the hole.
