This light has been iontermittently coming on and off over the years. Does
this light, which has to do with the wheel speed sensor located on the rear
axle, also have anything to do with the level of the brake pad linings on
    the rear wheels?

Recently, I have had the rear brakes redone. The light has not come on
since. I am just wondering of this ilght also sensed the brake lining
    limits.

    TIA

The light also indicates about 20 other conditions, but not the linings.
.. . technician may have (even accidentally) cleaned the sensor off
enough to make a difference while he had it apart.

  3. In several Volvo models dirty sensors are the classic cause of ABS lights.
Brake pad dust builds up on them and a shot of brake cleaner does the trick.
I imagine the same is true of most cars.

Passports are actually rodeos so what I say here is probably of no
    use.

On a 97 accord, there are two wiring connectors underneath the glove
compartment. One has 6 wires (I think) and the other has two. The
one with 6 is made for a special software tool that allows all kinds
of measurements involving the ABS. The one with two - you short it
out and then the ABS light on the dash will blink out the trouble
code. You may need to get the factory service manual to interpret the
    code.
