    Hi,

I'm new to honda (has been a toyota owner for a while and need a little
bit variety). I'm considering to buy a used honda, and I narrowed it
down to either 1997 honda accord LX or 2001 civic EX coupe. The accord
is easier in term of upfront cost, but we are worried about the
maintenance cost overtime. It has ~105,000 miles on it. The car
currently seems to be in a very good shape (I'm requesting the service
history). What kind of problem can I expect from an accord this old?

    Thanks.

  2. I bought my 1993 Accord in 1998 and have had few problems. It now has
140000 miles. It has recently developed a problem with an ignition etc.
relay which causes starting and stalling problems but is not too hard to fix
    I understand. See
    http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/startproblems.html#mainrelay. Other than
that I am really happy with the vehicle.
