1997 Acura CL 2.2 (V-Tech Engine) - What type of gas to use????????

    1997 Acura CL 2.2 (V-Tech Engine) - What type of gas to use and why????????

    87 Octane?? 89??? or Super 93????


    any help is appreciated,

    First off, it's VTEC. Second consult your owner's manual but I'm pretty
    sure it's regular 87. Higher octane is for engines with higher compression.

    It's the same engine as the Accord. 87 is fine. Use 89 if it feels sluggish or
    hear knocking.

    If it is the 200 hp 2.2 Prelude engine -- Premium.

    3.0CL has 200hp V6 engine.

    2.2 CL's don't come with Lude engines unless someone swapped it out
