1997 Honda del Sol - Helm Inc. "Shop Manual Supplement"

Discussion in 'Del Sol' started by Scott E. Bosecker, Jan 12, 2004.

  1. I believe Helm, Inc. produces the Service Manuals sold by Honda to their
customers. I went to the Helm web site

    http://www.helminc.com/

and searched for a Service Manual for the 1997 Honda del Sol. The result
    that I got was:

"1997 Del Sol Shop Manual Supplement" at a cost of $27.00 .

    If I so a search for a 1996 Service Manual I get:

"1996 Del Sol Shop Manual (All)" at a cost of $62.00 .

The description of both of these manuals is virtually identical.

Based upon the price (and the title) I suspect the 1997 manual is not
described correctly and is a supplement to another manual... but a
    supplement to what?

Does anyone have any information on these manuals?

    Best regards,

    Scott

  2. It's a supplement to the '96 manual covering updates - they never produced
a new full '97 Shop Manual. Maybe someone can say how much that particular
supplement is worth in terms of how much info is in it. I got the '99
Supplement to the '98 Shop Manual for my '99 Integra and it was a waste of
$$: 12 pages, with stiff(ish) covers, of the new Design & Specs and a minor
change to installing the differential on a B18C1 engine which I don't have.

My guess is you can probably safely get the '96 full manual and pass on the
    supplement.

  3. Supplement to a 1997 Del Sol Shop Manual. I bought one of these.
They're nothing much, for me it's useless, I had it returned. The real one
is a 1997 Del Sol Shop Manual (All). Notice the word ALL means it's
thick and includes most or all information found on the supplement.

What is the supplement? I believe it covers electrical wiring drawn in the
"Chilton" style. It's not professionally done, so it may include errors,
etc. I'd asked the same question 7-years ago.
