Does the '99 Accord have a light in the LCD in-dash clock? I have an Accord
and noticed you cannot see the clock face at night. TIA

You gotta turn on the headlights to see.

Actually, you don't. The clock in a sixth-generation Accord is lit
    whenever the ignition is on.

Yes it does. It is readily accessible once you pull out the clock.

Didn't follow well with the thread. So is there a way to fix some
light back to this clock display?

Take a flat blade screwdriver (wrap it in electrical tape so you don't
dig up the trim) and insert it on the bottom of the clock assembly.
There are two clips--one under the hazard switch and the other in the
same place on the other side. If you insert and use very SLIGHT prying
motion you can release them. When you get both of those released, pop
the bottom edge of the clock out first, then slide the tabs on the top
under a little bit to get it out. The bulb is on the right side--just
barely large enough to remove and replace with your fingers and not
tweezers. When you have it replaced, check it before you put it back.
The clock light is on whenever the ignition is on--it has nothing to do
with the headlights--so don't turn on your headlights without the
ignition on and decide your new bulb is bad when it doesn't light up,
like I did. :) Just turn the switch on and it should light up--you can
see it easily through some cutouts in the side. When you put it back,
put the top edge in first, then pop the bottom back in. It takes three
minutes tops--the scariest part is releasing the bottom clips.

Thanks man, sounds like it's pretty easy. So is there an issue with
the clock backlight design? I just bought this used car, and was
surprised to see that there's no backlit light for the clock, but then
I asked another friend of mine who bought his accord new and he said
there wasn't any light at all! Wondering if it came out of the
    factory line already defective??

Sure, no problem. It is easy. Do it in daylight, sober, and with the
temperature above 60 degrees, and it's a cinch as long as you don't go
nuts with the screwdriver in step 1.

The bulb is a buck and a quarter or so.

Yup, I think so, based on the number of folks who ask about it. Mine
was intermittent for a night before it went altogether, which makes me
think it's probably a vibration problem. So make sure it's seated
properly before you put it back.

There is a company that sells led replacement bulbs for many
applications, if the bulb is a type 168 or type 74 they may have a
replacement that should last 100,000 hours.
