You are entitle to your opinion but our records of thousands of
vehicles, the source I use, says differently. But hey it's your
money spend it where you wish. I could not car less. The
original poster did, apparently believing buying a Honda would
insure trouble free longevity, yet he has a blown engine under
    60K.

excursion for excessive oil burning. i think since he put nothing down, they

  8. I like you have been a faithful Honda owner from 1990 when I bought my first
Honda Accord. From 1990 until now I have owned 6 Hondas, 4 of which I still
    own. I have owned a 1990 Accord, a 1996 Accord and I still own a 1998
    Accord EX V6, a 1999 Civic, a 2001 Civic and a 2003 Accord EX V6. I have
been very happy with all of them with the exception of the 03. There were
some issues with the 03 that were not taken care of to my satisfaction after
almost a year of battling with American Honda and their Customer Service
department. They basically said "this is all we are going to do for you and
if you don't like it you can go to the BBB and complain. That was not the
response nor the attitude I expected from American Honda. I have said to
them and the dealer that the 03 was the last Honda I will buy and when my
others need to be replaced they will not be replaced with Hondas. Like you
said, Honda is not the only game in town.

  10. I started this and was amazed that at least 21 people posted a response. I
read all of them and most were not even on the subject mentioned above but
some posts were on the subject and well written--thanks. I only have one
thought to add--Murphy's law is a fact of life and can kick in at any time
with any car. Those people that have Honda cars that have extended
warranties don't have to worry about Murphy's law. Those people that don't
have extended warranty do have to worry about Murphy's law kicking in on
them and on their cars. I don't regret buying the extended warranty since
it keeps my heart from racing when the engine light comes on. On the other
hand, I fully understand why people don't buy extended warranty.

I never buy extended warranties on anything. They are a cash cow for
the retailer/manufacturer. They probably make as much money there as
they do selling the product in the long run. That's why they push so
hard to sell them when you buy something. It never ceases to amaze me
that clerks try to sell me an extended warranty on a $50 item.

Over the years, I have saved enough money to buy a new Honda, maybe
two of them. If our current Accord goes completely in the tank, I am
still money ahead. You pays yer money and take yer choice, but people
who buy extended warranties are just wasting their money. Life
insurance is a different issue. You know you are going to die. You
don't know if a product is going to fail catastrophically, and the
    odds are it won't.

    Sorry troll...your credibility is shot.
Again, the numbers speak the truth.
Wrongo dipstick. Domestic cars (per capita) are less durable and reliable
than there Japanese counter part. Look it up moron...its a fact.
Ok...I just did. It just about reflected the exact same ratio that I see on
    the road. So what?

    Get a life loser-troll.

"You" have proven nothing, aside from the fact that you hide behind some
childish Usenet names, AND have been caught in flagrant lies and
    misinformation.

Does your Mommy know your playing with the keyboard again?

What vehicles? You mean your Barbie Corvette and Tonka Trucks?

Obviously you do, or you wouldn't be so persistent in your troll position.
That is NOT what he said...you are a (proven) liar!
