Retrieved the car on my car dolly today and checked it out in my garage.

Took the drivers side wheel off and when I attempted to take the bolt off

that holds the main bottom pulley in place found it to be so "loose" I could

remove it with my fingers! Took off the pulley and found the key had been

sheared, keyway damaged and bored hole in pulley damage. Could this have

been an assembly issue??? Maybe an incorrect torque setting?? Looks as the

bolt came loose over a period of x amount of time causing the pulley to

strip the key and inside bore. Hmmmmmmmmm.........Honda will here about this

Monday and perhaps should pay for my new pulley , key, and 2 belts!!!!

Honda Canada won't warranty the harmonic balancer/main pulley coming
loose....I've heard bad things about theircustomer service..........hmmm
..maybe a big bold sign on my car "LEMON" will help.... parked in front of
    the dealership!

I say go for it! But go over the dealer's head to Honda of Canada and then
to your Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs. I'll bet they can
    help you.

  6. Depending on when you bought it, it could be as old as 5 years and you make
no mention of mileage, service performed, by whom or if you are the
original owner. It *is* possible that "lemon" is not likely to apply here.
As someone else suggested, if the timing belt has been changed the torquing
error could have been then; if the valve clearance had ever been checked,
Honda *does* suggest, in service manuals, checking the torque on the pulley
bolt after using it to turn the engine over.
