i need some advice.. i got a 2001 civic and it was involved in a minor
crash... left front bumper pushed in.... and it has a 1 inch cut on the
far left side of the bumper( i plan on repairing the bumper with some
kind of adhesive that is used for the repair of these rubber bumpers)
does anyone know what they make the bumpers out of??? i know ford sells
a repair kit for their plastic/rubber bumpers, does Honda sell this???
i will then remove the bumper and knock the dent our of it and fix the
small crack and also straighten out the fender or replace it and then
either me spray paint it( i have a compressor and a gun to spray it)..
its a (silver original paint) 2001 civic.. any suggestions??????
the shop and insurance company gave me an estimate of $1500 for cost of
repairs.... seemed kinda high to me.. i had a tire blow on a 93 Ford and
they gave me an estimate and check for $1600... i cost me less than
$100 to fix it and get it looking like new again.. most of the stuff was
black tire marks on the fender and a $3.00 bottle of Bug and Tar remover
got rid of it,, and a rivet gun to rivet back the plastic bumer and
trim on top of the bumper????? cant tell it was ever damaged.......
that was about 6 yrs. ago... would have been the most was of $1600 i
would have ever spendt paying for the repair of that car....
