i got a 2001 civic and the SRS (supplemental Restraint system indicator
light comes on when starting it up and driving.. the owners manual says
that it is suppose to go off when the engine starts up.. if not then
take it to the dealer to be serviced.... anyone ever have this
problem??? what is done to correct this system??? i dont want to go to
the dealer and have them tell me that they got to replace the air bags
or such and get a bill for $1500.... i have been driving for years and
almost all cars did not have seat belts much less air bags and i did not
ever need them in the past.. if its only problem is gonna be no air bags
    then its no problem...
thanks for a reply.... if anyone knows of a fix for this let me know...

Only one question comes to mind: Have you read the part in the manual
that describes carrying heavy packages on the passenger's seat? Not sure
if that applies to your year.

Another thought: Have you had the car steam cleaned recently?
