2001 Honda Accord makes some noise on left turns

Discussion in 'Accord' started by ramesh.palavanchu, Apr 10, 2007.

  1. I recently started noticing my 2001 Accord makes some noise from the
back ( i think around the while) when I make any left turn. I notice
this sound, sometimes even while going straight but hit a pothole or
    bump.

Sometimes, after the left turn, this sound stays. then if i apply
break and then release, this sound goes away. Anyone can help me.
    what's happening here?

Would help to know what kind of noise it is... rubbing, grinding, clicking,
    buzzing? Metal-on-metal, metal-on-plastic, plastic-on-wood?

  3. I would say grinding/buzzing. and it is metal-on-metal.

have you had the brake pads checked on the rear wheels? If it goes away
for a while after braking it could be the pads are worn down.

  5. So, if the problem is with rare pads wearing down, could it make this
    sound, when not applying brakes
and only while making left turn ??

The brake disc could be warped and could be touching the pad without
applying the brakes hence making the noise. It's when you mentioned
metal-on-metal that I thought of brakes. I'm not sure but if it was me
I'd get the brakes checked first and rule them out if they are ok.

Yeah, it's easy to check, and most brake shops will do it for free.

    Brakes or wheel bearing.
