    Hi,
Does anyone know why a relatively new car with only 12,000 miles on it
(purchased new) would suddenly have a dead battery? No lights left on,
temperature has been above freezing, yet it won't start without a jump.
Could using a cellphone charger in the lighter socket while attempting
to start cause a problem? Any ideas about the cause would be
    appreciated.

Most likely premature failure of the battery. There should still be some
sort of warranty credit on it. Call the dealer.

One year old? Should still be under manufacturers warranty. Let them figure
    it out!

Sure trunk light is not stuck on? I came across a particular bulb that drains
battery but will not shine. Best way to find out is to hook a bulb in series
to the cable and battery post.

The consensus appears to be that I should just let the dealer check it
out. Thanks to all for your input.
