I've replaced the front struts on a 2002 Civic EX at 12,000 miles; the dealer told me at that time that I shouldn't have these problems in the future with the replacement struts that they've put in. He said Honda came up with a permanent fix for this problem. Now at 17k I can hear thumping noise coming from the wheels, and the car feels unstable when making turns or hitting bumps on the road. Is my guess correct that the old problem with the struts is back? The car still has warranty, but I don't think I'll be happy with replacing struts every 7000 miles once the warranty runs out.
