Every couple dozen starts or so, the starter doesn't engage and I get
a buzzing sound when I turn the key. I try it again and it works fine.
    What might be happening?

Sounds like a common problem with Hondas. I had to replace my ignition
switch (part behind the key) on a 95 odyssey. You car is quite a bit though.
However, my van would be running along fine and just quit. Try searching
google.com for this, you will probably turn up something.

There was a recall notice on the ignition switch. Check with your Honda dealer.

This doesn't sound like the symptoms of the ignition switch problem. On the
ones I've seen, they would always crank, but not always run.

This sounds more like a problem with the starter, maybe a loose connection
from the battery to the starter, or maybe the battery is about to go bad.
In my last last Honda, the OEM batteries died every two years, almost to the
    day.

  5. I just hit year 7 with a Diehard Gold...still going strong. We'll see
    how it does this winter.
