Hello, I have an issue with the heating system on my 2003 Accord EXL. the
driver seat heated gets a hot spot under one leg. It gets very hot and then
the seat bottom stops heating completely. The back still heats. I have had
it to the dealer 2 times for the issue, they replaced a part the first time,
a seat heater of some sort. The second time they said no trouble found. This
time, they ordered a seat bottom which Im assuming has a heating unit
contained within. Has anyone seen this problem?. Thanks.

Sorry, it hasn't been cold yet. Haven't used the heated seats yet.

Why would you bother replying with that post?

Had a similar problem with a Volvo. It was the "element" or the wires
of the heater in the seat. They had worn through and shorted - bypassed
a resistor or something. This only happened well into 175K mi - odd
that it would happen on a new car - if that is the problem. It was a
fire hazard so make sure they fix it!

LOL, yeah, you're right! Kind of a lame response. I guess I was
cruising through the list and my reaction was that there might not be
a lot of experience with the heated seats as yet. In my neck of the
woods (Minnesota) I didn't notice very many new style Accords until
late spring / early summer. So my point was simply that until many of
us get through some cold weather, he won't have much of a read on
whether there are some common heated seat problems.

for those of you who haven't had the problem, I don't require a reply. Maybe
for some of you it hasn't been cold enough this winter. I don't honestly
    care.
It was cold enough last winter, and I got the car in fall 2002. It was a
2003 model. I appreciate the comment on the Volvo problem. My issue sounds
very similar. No need to increase the thread if you haven't had the problem.
I guess some people still do have too much time on there hands..
