2003 Accord tires and handling

  1. Hi! Before I bought our 2003 Accord EX V6 sedan last year, I read a number
of reviews that indicated that the handling of the Accord was perhaps a
notch below it competitors. The reviewers hinted that this was probably a
function of the tires--excellent mileage but not such good adhesion. I was
wondering if (1) anyone with this car has replaced the original Michelins
with something that was supposed to have better grip/handling and (2) did
    you find any improvement.

  2. I seem to remember similar comments however, the Michelins that Honda
normally uses are quite a good all around tire. If you want to do serious
performance improvement, you can review performance tires allot of places.
You might think of doing a 'plus-1' or 'plus-2' change going to lower
profile tires. Keep in mind prices start to asscend pretty fast as you get
up to the 17" and 18" sizes and also remember that wheel weight has allot to
do with handling, stay with the lightest possible wheel that you like.

Places like tirerack.com and such have customer feedback info that doesn't
pull any punches. In other words, they don't just put in the good comments.

    Good luck,
