Is anyone else having these problems? Bought a 04 Accord and now has
about 12000 miles on it. Having problem with late and rough shifting.
Overdrive no longer kicks in. My dealer had it in for almost a week
and said nothing was wrong. The problem persists and seems to be
getting worse. Brought the car in again and they said they knew of a
trannie problem, but are not fixing it under recall at this time. It
did fall under warranty but ive had it with this pile of junk. I
    should have bought a Malibu.

  2. You should have bought a gun instead.

How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light:

    1. Hold trip/reset button on dash
    2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine
    3. Hold button til light goes out

Find out what your state's lemon law is, and do something fast. You
may force a buy-back if you've had the car worked on 4 or 5 times in
either 1 year or possibly 2 years. You have to document the problem
with actual repair sheets, not just go in and complain. Do something
fast, because you may already be too late if they string you along.
Again, every state's laws are a bit different. Call your attorney
general's office, or do an Internet search, to find the proper agency.

I had a problem with my '90 Integra tranny when it was brand new. It
would sometimes race past the normal 1-2 shift point and then settle
into 2d. I sent them a lemon law complaint and, as far as I can tell,
I got the very first spring kit sent from Japan to address these
problems. At that point it had about 4,000 miles. They also had to
replace a burned 2d gear clutch pack.

I've seen a few posts about poor shifting on the V6 Accords and was
wondering if it was related to this:

"One difference from the TL transmission is the addition of the Electronic
Throttle Control (ETC) system to further enhance shift smoothness by
momentarily closing the throttle (reducing torque) at shift points."

    Here is the link:
    http://honda.ca/HondaEng/Models/AccordSedan/BenefitDetails.htm?section=Powertrain#5-SPEEDAUTOMATICTRANSMISSIONFOR

I wonder if this is a programming glitch... just a thought. It is a V6
    right?

P.S. I've own two Malibu's and it is the very reason I've purchased a Honda.
The Chevy has brutal fit and finish, had transmission leaks, ABS/wheel
bearing replaced, alternators replaced, fan controls replaced numerous
times, premature trim corrosion, lower intake gasket failures, terrible
highway on-centre steering, constant front brake problems (until I went with
cross-drilled and slotted rotors), idler pulley failure and I'm sure more
problems that I can't remember... Trust me! You did yourself a favour
    passing on the Chevy.

  12. I just bought a 2004 Accord LX about a month ago. I noticed that the
transmission change is jerky or delayed at times. I sometimes here a
"tin noise" sometimes after I switch from reverse to forward. Are
these signs of a problem? It's hard to believe I'm having this after
    only 1 month.
