Got a great quote on both. Do I spend the extra $1700 for the V6? I'm test
driving both models this morning. From some of the reviews I've read, sounds
like the 4 cyl has enough power to satisfy most people??? Any comments would
    be greatly appreciated.

  4. I've got a 98 Accord LX 4 cyl that I bought new. Great car, but
NO passing power. Go for the V6.

I'm sure it is, and a 12-cyl would be a world of difference again. I'm very
    satisfied with my 4-cyl automatic.

I've got a 96'/4 EX and it's fine. Lags a little with the air on, but never really
    had a problem.

My 2K Odyssey/6 is quicker but revs so low, the air doesn't cool the interior
unless you keep gunning it or get onto a super hwy.

I like the sound of a 4 when you gun it. Sounds more race-car like.

My LX-G '04 I4 auto is just fine for my agressive driving style but I'm sure
I'd have more fun with the V6... and probably more speeding tickets too.

Come on; it has plenty of passing power. It gets to 90mph+ easily.

Rhe V6 gives much more refinement ot the car, though and fuel economy is
great for this kind of power.

Well, after driving both cars this morning, I did decide to get the V6. I
test drove the 4 first and was impressed with the ride and power. I than
drove the 6 and didn't want to stop driving it. I got the car for $1200
below invoice thanks to a $1000 rebate. Had there not been a rebate on the
car, I would have probably settled for the 4 and still been quite content.

I have 98EXV6. I wouldn't have it any other way. The new ones have 240 HP.
Smoother, faster. You don't need to drive like a lunatic...just to know it's
there when you need it (passing, getting on highways etc)

The I4 has enough power for around town. It is state of the art, with
no EGR valve, has a metal timing chain, etc. But, if you are going
to do serious highway miles, particularly passing traffic on congested
two-way roads, go for the V6. It is much quicker at highway speeds,
and an extra safety margin could save your life.

  12. Save it. I love the car, but it's a slug. Period.

My 4cyl manual is fast, and can hold its own. And the Navi milage
computer has registered up to 36MPG on the highway for a tank of fuel.
Its almost as cheap to drive as my '88 Accord.

A I4 manual can beat it off the line.

Don't bet on it. The V6 240Hp eats any Accord 4 cyl.
