Have a new 2004 Accord EX that when you start up idles at about 950 -
1200 thenwhen you put it in reverse it bolts out around 15 mph. When idle
finally kicks down and when the car it warmed up, it seems to idle around
750prms according to the dash tach.
We had a 2000 V6 prior and it was smooth as silk but even when warmed up
at a light or stop the 2004 will sudder and vibrate momentarily. We were
told that this was the AC compressor kicking in. I know that ths car is a 4
cyl and not a 6 but does anyone else have this problem ?
What are the idle speeds for an EX when cold, warmed up, in park and in
    gear?

    Thanks
    Barry

My 2004 EX 4cyl runs as smooth as silk. You hardly know its running.
You definately have a problem. The A/C should not pose any load if it is
turned off. My old '88 Accord has that problem. I rev it one or two
times then it settles down. I'm getting rid of it soon so I have not
    even looked at it.

If the dealer service tries to tell you it is normal make them show it to
you on the other similar cars on the lot.

This is interesting to me as my 03 EX-L 4 cyl does this. I could have
sworn it was not as bad when I first picked it up in May. Now I know
I'm not crazy! I'll ask the dealer when I'm there for a service in
    December.

    Thanks for the heads up.

take it back to the dealer to get it fixed correctly.. if not in 10 yrs.
you gonna be asking the same question about the idle.. it should be in
    warranty, right......

Mine idles consistantly between 650 and 700 RPM, and barely feel the
    engine running.
