2007 Accord - Marks on Dash Panel

I just bought a 2007 Honda Accord LX-V6. The dash board panel on the
    passenger
side has a rectangular mark (very clearly visible). I took it to the
    dealer the very next
day and he agreed that this is a manufacturing defect in the panel
    which houses the
passenger side airbag. He ordered a new part and called me in to
    replace it. Today he
says that all the new 2007 Accords that he has have the same mark.

How can Honda be shipping out cars with such a glaring cosmetic defect?

I called Honda customer relations and got a stupid woman on the phone.
    She had
no clue and was not willing to listen and understand my issue. I am
    going to keep
escalating this issue till I get it resolved.

Does anyone else have this problem ?

I bought a 1997 Dodge Ram Van that had only one inner wheel well splash
guard. This is the rubber part that keeps mud and dirt out of the engine
compartment. After going round and round with the dealer a few times, they
told me that Chrysler had decided to put this part only on the passenger's
side, and that the driver's side part didn't even exist!

I figure you are out of luck on this one, if that is indeed what Honda
decided to do. But keep escalating the issue, until you get the final word.

It *is* resolved, you idiot. They are replacing your dash, free of charge,
and will probably issue a TSB to cover this for other people. Your mind is
so clouded with hate and thoughts of revenge that you cannot think
    straight.

Also, you have posted this identical message individually to at least three
groups. Not only are you angry and vindictive (and probably have a scowly
expression on your face), you are ignorant of proper crossposting
    etiquette.

    See my reply in alt.autos.honda.

Are you talking about an inner fender? They were making them that way back
in the 80's. One side had an inner fender, the other didn't.

Something like that. I wanted both sides, because I live on a gravel road.
Chrysler said the left one wasn't needed, so I eventually get a Suburban to
    replace it.

It *is* resolved, you idiot. They are replacing your dash, free of charge,
I think you could not understand what I said. The dealer refused to
    replace the part
as the mark is on more than 1 car.

The reason of multiple posting was to get maximum coverage so that I
    could find
someone out there who has had the same issue. As far as being aware of
    cross
posting, yes, you are right, I did not know.

I think the marks you are talking about are where the air bag rips out of
the panel during an accident. In the old days there would be a separage
ugly panel that hinges open there. THis is considered an improvement.
CHrysler had it too in my 300M though they were just about invisible in most
300Ms I saw. They were laser cut from underneath, according to Chrysler
    docs.
