    ROTFL!!!

I guess that's why Toy has had to recall hundreds and hundreds of
engines that cooked their oil to sludged, got damaged, and turned into
    blue smokers.

The problem with the Toyota sludge was that owners were being lax on
their oil changes, and the oil could not suspend any more particulates
in the oil. It was partially Toyota's fault, as their maintenance
schedules were all over the place, and people that fell into the severe
service category often did not change their oil until well after the
normal service interval of 7500 miles.

Technically, Toyota didn't have to do anything. They could have done
like Saturn and denied there was any problem, and never offered to fix
anything, unless the customer had proof of oil changes. The difference
is that Toyota cares about their reputation for quality, and sometimes
that means cutting the customer some slack when they don't follow the
    proper maintenance schedule.

Although Toyota has not admitted fault, it *HAS* settled a class-action
lawsuit and essentially admitted that engines properly maintained did
have problems. Google "toyota oil gel".

I Googled it, but I could not find anywhere that Toyota admitted that
properly maintained engines had this problem.

Horse feathers. It was a design flaw, obvious from the fact that it only
affected certain engine designs and didn't affect other manufacturers
    the same way.

Of course not - and the settlement admits of no fault. However: "
If your vehicle is still covered by the CSP and you made reasonable

maintenance efforts, and it has an oil gel problem, it will be repaired and
    your reasonable incidental

expenses will also be paid." certainly means that cars with spotless

maintenance records on oil changes are covered and will be repaired.
