88 civic si exhaust pipe cracked all the way around the diameter of
    the pipe.
Location: just to the right of the clamp that holds the long pipe onto
the muffler, ie: just upwind of the muffler.
Can this be welded or can a sleeve be put on it or will the whole long
    pipe need to be replaced?
    Anything else I can do?
The muffler is not totally secure now.
Any idea about cost for fixing this?

thanks very much for all the info

    Eric,

Often times you can go into a muffler shop and get them to weld it. Any
repair like that usually won't last, though. If you only need it to
last a couple of weeks or months, it should be fine. But plan on buying
new exhaust parts in the near future.

Find a small exhaust shop and talk to them about it. Most of those guys
will weld it up quick for a minimal amount of cash, because they're
    quite sure you'll be back.

it can be taken off and welded, im sure. most places would want to
change it out with a new one.
