My 89 Accord's engine check light is coming on periodically and the
led code is 6 which means the temp sensor. My dash temp gauge seems
to be working fine. I'm not sure if I need to replace the temp sensor
or not. I did pull the fuse to reset the ecu. That didn't seem to
    change anything. Thanks.

You need a TW sensor, not a dash gauge temp sensor. These are fairly common
problems on 86-89 accords. They usually show up as a problem where the car
will not start if warmed up... you run to the bank, turn off the car, drop a
deposit, and then the car will not start for you.

Your dash temp gauge is working fine. It's referring to the coolant
temperature sensor (aka TW). If you don't replace the sensor, you run
the risk of damaging your O2 and catalytic. The computer is picking up
a false reading from the sensor and doesn't know what to do but dump
gas into the engine just trying to get you home. Once home, replace it
or test it. LX or LXi?

Replaced the TW sensor and that did the trick. Thanks for your help!
