89 Accord DX dies out randomly

Iv'e got an 89 Accord DX carburated and sometimes it will die out while im
driving it. For example, today I went over a dip maybe a little faster than I
should have(partly because I didn't see it in time), and about 15 seconds later
the car died out, turned it back on, drove back home(about a 1/2 mile away from
where it shut off) with no problem. About an hour later, I drive off to the
store and about a 1/4 of a mile later the car shuts off again. This time I turn
the ignition on, the car turns on for a second and then shuts off again. Even
when I hit the accelerator while turning the key it will still shut off. It
would not stay on no matter what I did to it. So I had to call my brother(much
much better with cars than I am) and we were trying to figure it all out for a
while(cheking for loose hoses, checking the accelerator cable). Somehow the
damn this fixed itself because when I tried starting it again, I tried hitting
the gas while attempting to turn the car on and this time it would actually let
me accelerate, but it would shut off the second I let go of the pedal. I tried
turning it on 1 more time, kept it running at 3000 rpm for about a minute or so
and somehow it got fixed. I don't understand it. In the past before this
happened, the car would shut off at times(not often, maybe once or twice a
month), I'd pull over, pump the pedal hard a few times, and start it up and
drive off without any problem. Iv'e been fortunate enough not to have the car
turn off in traffic or a busy intersection(probably because it only shuts off
when it's idle). I had the carb rebuilt maybe about 6 months ago but I don't
think they did a very good job honestly because I'm still experiancing this
same problem and it happened before the carb was rebuilt as well. I was hoping
there was some sort of known problem this this year and make of the car which
is why I'm asking here. Anyone got any ideas? Should I just get the carb
    rebuilt again?

    Thanks

Sounds like you need to get your carburator rebuilt. I ran into the same
problem with my '88 Accord. You should also check your fuel filters.
    There are 2 of them.

Why not try running a tank of ethanol-enhanced PREMIUM gas thru it? It's
non-invasive, and only costs a few bux more. Maybe you've got weter in
your tank / filters / float-bowls? The ethanol will help remedy that.

If you park in heated parkades in the winter, or have problems with your
filler tube (isn't your model famous for that?) you could have all kinds
of fuel problems that rebuilding won't cure.

You DID mention it gets worse when you hit bumps, right :)

The symptom he describes matches pretty much exactly the way Honda ignition
switches fail. If everything else checks out, take off the ignition switch
and see what the contacts look like inside it.

thanks for the suggestions everyone. i went out a few minutes ago and when the
car was idle, during the stop lights, the car was struggling to stay on(rpm
needle was jumping up and down but didn't turn off). after 10 minutes of
driving and i came up to another light, the engine was running stable when
idle, then 15 minutes later its running choppy. damn i wish i could figure out
what it wrong with it. ill check out what you guys said tomorrow.
