I'm trying to install a slave CD player (Honda Part ##08A06-121-210) that
matches the AM/FM/Cassette head unit in my 91 Accord.

Originally, the head unit was connected to a plastic storage sleeve, along
with a metal bracket which bolted onto the dash, right above where the
ashtray would be. I removed the storage sleeve, attached the CD player to
the head unit, but I had to lose the original metal bracket, since the CD
came with its own. Now I cannot figure out how to secure the whole shebang
to the dash - the combined unit just sits in the dash, ready to rattle
around. What could I be missing here ?

    Thanks - Dan

Hope this doesn't get me in trouble, but since I have yet to get
suggestions, I'd like to poll the group again.

    Thanks - Dan

    ++++++++++++

I just went thru the same dilema on a '95 Ody a few weeks ago. After I
built a little bracket, and put the whole dash together, I asked myself:
Should I have taken a picture of that?

    Answer is now YES!

I'l write you with the cure, and maybe a picture. 'Curly'

Hmmm ... my experience with a 93 Del Sol says that there is a mounting
plate behind the stereo that is the prime mechanical connection. There
should be a matching plate on the stereo, perhaps with multiple
threaded mounting holes, some of which line up with the plate in the car.
It is difficult to access but the only place I know of where the
unit is solidly attached. Unless the CD changer actually attached to, or
covered up these holes, that's where you should be looking to make the
attachment. You only need to have one machine screw in place to secure
the unit, although it should be designed to take two. I can imagine
though that the mounting holes would be very difficult to get at with
a CD changer mounted to the radio. Perhaps the radio is to be installed
and mounted first, and then the CD chnager secured to it.

Thanks, Curly. There's actually some screw holes on the angled bracket that
connects the radio and CD player together, but they don't seem to match any
holes in the dash. I will check this again to see if I overlooked
    something.
