Showing the power of usenet to my father, who is having an engine
    issue...

91 Civic 1.5L starts and runs on 1 cylinder, then after a bit it will
run on all four, exhaust blue smoke, then quits after it gets warmed
up. Wont start then till the next day.

Car was purchased knowing it had a bad valve. It ran fine(ish) on 3
    cylinders,
Pulled head and replaced a bad valve, timing belt, head gasket, exhaust
    and intake gasket.

Were thinking its cracked head or cracked block. Would love any
    opinions.

    Thanks

(please post to newsgroup, as my father will be watching the group when
I return home from the holidays).

failure to start is either ignition or injection. as yours is dual
point injection, rule out the latter. replace plugs, leads, cap &
    rotor. then report back.

Little more info please. Did it run after the rebuild? Or won't run
since? How much mileage on the car? Original Distributor?
