I took my CRX into a tire shop to have the back tires balanced as the rear
tires vibrated between 50-65 Mph. He put it on the rack, looked at my rear
tires, pushed up on the rear tires & was able to compress the struts about 4
inches. He then announced that I needed new struts ($440 installed) Plus an
alignment ($40) & new rear tires ($110) At that point a little voice said I
was being hustled, so I had him take it down & I left. I can see how bad
struts can damage rear tires, but if I bounce the rear end it feels very
tight with no bounce at all like bad shocks give. It has a firm ride with no
bounce going over bumps. The car has 102 K on it. Does it sound like this
guy was trying to "Mr Goodwrench" me?

    Thanks
