I have a 91 Accord SE with a strange problem. About a week ago my wife
called me at work and stated that the drivers door would not open. At first
I thought she was joking, until I attempted to get it . I thought it was a
bad actuator or rod that wasn't pushing the lock so I removed the door panel
and weather barrier. I checked the lock mechanism, both door handles and
all the connecting rods. Everything seems to be functioning as it should ,
but the door would not open. I tried a solvent solution to remove all of
the old lubricant , but still the door would not open . does anyone have a
clue as to how I can open my door?

  2. How did you get it open to remove the door panel?

the panel comes off with the door closed. now the hard part. there is
a bulletin on this problem. you need to drill a 1/4" hole in the latch
from inside the door, the bit will go through the latch and catch the
pawl and the door will open. then just replace the latch. i don't
remember exactly where to drill the hole, somewhere in the lower inner
quadrant of the latch when viewed from the inside. i'd just swiss
cheese it until it pops open.
