92 Civic LX won't start

Discussion in 'Civic' started by Kevin in Iowa, Aug 15, 2007.

  1. I believe that the fuel pump has gone out, but I am not discounting
the main relay (where is the main relay located at on a civic?, Accord
is right up under the dashboard and is a pain in the rear to get to!)
I know that there is supposed to be a access panel under the rear seat
or somewhere near that point. I have read on previous posts about a
fuel relay, where is that at, I cannot find it in the Chilton's
manual. I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel filter and had my son
turn on the key, and nothing comes out, so that makes me think pump.
Also, will a main relay for a 90 Accord fit?

    TIA

don't replace the pump if the relay is the problem!!! check out
tegger's main relay faq's and remedy accordingly.

  4. I have done the repair to a main relay on a 90 Accord, is the main
relay the same part number in the 92 Civic as the 90 Accord? I have a
spare main relay for the 90 that I could try if may work. The car is
80 miles away, so I am trying to get as much information as I can
    before going back down.

don't know part numbers - check them at one of the sites listed at
tegger.com. but even so, the car should run if you have an intermittent
on the relay. what else have you done to isolate the problem?
