I just bought a used 1992 Honda Accord. I have never owned a Honda and so I
really don't know if this is a design feature or a problem. I went to move
the Driver's seat forward and found it only went about 2 inches either
forward or backwards. I looked under the seat and could find nothing
obstructing its movement. The driver side has an airbag. The passenger
seat moves forward and backward with no problem. Is the driver seat broken
or is it designed like this.? Thank you

My 2 door '91 Accord DX's driver seat moves about the same as the
passengers. I would guess around a foot or may be more. When I
bought the car new I remember thinking it was a very large adjustment.

I don't think they changed much between the '91 and '92 model. Could
there possibly be something wedged into the track you can't see?

  3. I think something's wrong with your driver's seat. Try lube the rails to see
if it slides full range. I've not had any issues with mine. Hopefully your's
isn't damaged but acting cranky with the new owner.
BTW, how much did you pay for it? I'm selling mine soon but have no clue
what price is acceptable. I'm in Tampa FL.

  4. That's not by design, if you look under the seat with a flashlight, you'll
see the track that the seat moves in...it's long, like 22" allowing for
like 12" travel as someone mentioned.
