I have the D15B2 engine and I can't find the EGR system - I saw some
other posts which imply this engine doesn't have one. Anyone know if
that is true and how the NOx emissions are dealt with?

    Cheers

My Chilton's says that the only Civic model after 1992 with
an EGR system is the VX.

OTOH, the D15B2 was used on 89-91 Civics in the U.S.

Engine swap? Or Hondas for the UK are different?

If you believe Wikipedia the engine was in 92-95 European LSi's:

did they ever have them outside of the usa?

regardless, what is the problem you're having?

I was crawling in traffic doing less than 10mph for about an hour and
at idle the revs occassionally dropped to near zero and then suddenly
up again. I have recently had a new water pump and coolant
replacement - I was thinking maybe an airgap in the cooling was
tricking the EACV but then I did the coolant change by the book so I'm
doubtful that's it. It did cross my mind it might be when the cooling
fan kicks in but that's just a guess.

Have now replaced air filter and cleaned intake and trottle body with
carb cleaner - haven't used the car enough since to see if there is
    still a problem.

on the contrary - it's likely there's still air in the system resulting
    from the change.

egr is not eacv - totally unrelated.

I know egr is not the eacv - but they can both lead to idle problems?
I guess I need to try bleeding some more air out of the cooling
    system...

but you don't have egr do you? so how can it be a problem?

Yes the EGR isn't a problem as it doesn't exist on my car - thus the
culprit may be the EACV which relies on the coolant temperature hence
why I want to bleed it.
