94 Accord radio

Discussion in 'Accord' started by Wilfred Smulders, Aug 26, 2003.

  1. I bought an 1994 Accord Wagon LX and it appears that the radio does not work
all the time. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't, although the power
lights and display are always on. Also the cassette doen't work when the
radio doesn't work, although you hear the rotation of the cassette
    mechanism.
I've heart from a friend that she had the same problem with her Honda.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed? (I don't want
to go to a dealer for a radio worth $25). I prefer not to buy a new radio
because I'll have to sell the car again in 6 months, unless it is a used
    Honda one.

there's the instructions for stereo removal and installation for your
    car..

looks like you'll need an install kit

crutchfield has the mounting adapter for $20
    wiring harness is $10

if you buy your deck from them, you get those two things for free plus a
mastersheet on how to install new speakers and deck in your car.

  4. I ordered my Sony MP3 deck from Crutchfield. Their disassembly
instructions were good, had me tearing that dash apart with ease. The
wiring harness was great too. Other than that, their install kit was
total crap. I ended up ordering an install kit that was suggested on
this forum from some place like matrix.tv and it's great.
