On ignition I can hear some clicking sounds coming from under the dash (at
least it sounds like that) but the starter wont engage.
    Any ideas

    Thanks in advance !

Under what conditions does this happen?

If it occurs in hot weather, after the car has been parked in the sun awhile,
and evetually the car will start, it may very well be the main relay. This is a
famous problem for early 1990s (and maybe through later years?) Hondas.

See any or all of the following for help on this:

    Updates welcome for the archives.

    Good luck!

Turn on the headlights and get someone to watch them while you try the
starter. If the headlights stay bright, the starter is not drawing
current. Could be a bad starter solenoid (that's what's clicking) a
bad spot on the starter's comutator or bad brushes. If the lights do
dim, check your battery connections (loosten, clean and re-tighten),
battery cable connections and ground. It also might be the battery.

Well I opened the hood, checked the battery cables and now it works fine.
Sometimes machines seem to have a mind of their own.

Anyways thanks for all your help.

You might wamt tp recheck those battery cables.
I suspect that whne you moved them, you "fixed'
the problem, but it will come back at the most
awkward time. Like at 11:00PM in a rainy parking
lot. Or at 7:00AM as you get ready to leae for
work. Fix it correctly now, and you will likely
have years of trouble free operation. Don't and
you might get lucky and pop an alternator and
    hasten the btteries early demise.
