96 passport dash light question

Discussion in 'Passport' started by Dom-fetish.com, Oct 6, 2004.

  1. I have a 96 passport and my dash lights around the speedometer and gauges
hasgone out. Ive checked the fuses, and have tried replacing the small
glass "twist in" lights to no avail/

    Any suggestions?

    thanks in advance

Does the "dimmer" control work? It has been a bad dimmer switch in every
car I have had this problem with.

Have you changed the radio recently? Many aftermarket radios do not have a
connection for the dash dimmer wire & if it is not properly taped off, you
can kill the dash lights that way.

Did you change the ones that 'project' down from above, or just the
backlight ones ? Our Odyssey had one burnt out so the gas guage was
    always invisible at night.

  4. I have replaced the backlit ones, (small glass twist in type), but they
don't come on. the dimmer switch seems to work-- but the lights had been
going out one at a time,,

I have an aftermarket stereo, that was professionally installed about 5
years ago, so I ruled that out.
my fan doesn't work either,, the ac button turns blue when pushed but the
fan slider switch doesn't turn the fan on.
