My son's Honda Passport has a check engine light that's on now. No previous
problems. About 80k miles. Any suggestions? I don't have a service manual
    or owner's manual. Help please.

Obtain the codes. What year is the vehicle? If it is a 1995 Honda
Passport, V6, 3.2L engine, like mine is, then it has an OBD I.

You have to jumper the 1st and 3rd wire of the OBD I connector and turn the
ignitition key to the "ON" position. DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON WHEN THE WIRES
    ARE JUMPERED!!!

The "CHECK ENGINE" light should send a "12" indicating it is in diagnostic
mode. "12" will be sent as a "CHECK ENGINE," "CHECK ENGINE CHECK ENGINE"
(one flash, two quick flashes). After long pause, it will repeat two times.
It will then return any codes it has stored in the same format. For
example, "32" will flash as "CHECK ENGINE CHECK ENGINE" "CHECK ENGINE CHECK
ENGINE CHECK ENGINE" (two quick flashes, pause, three quick flashes). Three
times, then back to the "12" code.

    Good luck.
