`96 Prelude Clutch question

Discussion in 'Prelude' started by Promising Lie, Feb 11, 2004.

  1. Hey guys .. Sometimes my clutch drops to the floor and lays there until i pump
it a bit .. i have to hit the floor to adjust gears and it is hard to push down
    ... i think i have the 2.2L 5 spd .. i keep adding brake fluid into the
trasmission fluid .. i'm guessing it needs a new clutch cable, and hopefully
not a new clutch .. would any of you know where the clutch cable is located on
it, and if so, is that a job i can fix my self, or is ( i guess it is hydrolic)
a hydrolic clutch not easy to fix ..

Any help is grealty appreciated !!

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Btw: how much would parts and labor be for a clutch cable at a mechanic ?
    Thanks much ..

    STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are you adding brake fluid at????

Have the tranny service ASAP, then have the hydraulic clucth system
    inspected.

I see a dead tranny in your future.

I hope you mean that you have to keep adding fluid to the small round
clutch reservoir in the engine compartment, the one next to the brake fluid
    reservoir.

If so, the clutch master cylinder is bad.

If you're actually jacking up the car, crawling under it, removing the
transmission fill bolt and adding brake fluid to the transmission case,
    then...ai-yi-yi...
