97 accord lx - hitachi or tec distributor??

    I've seen the Honda factory online parts diagrams and it lists a TEC
    or HITACHI distributor. Depending on which...there are different o-
    rings and cap/rotor I think.

    any way to tell the difference? I can't see any markings on the
    distributor...at least the part in view.

  2. Look at the distributor cap, if it says TEC on it, its TEC, the hitachi
    symbol is circular with segments in it, I've never seen one though.

    Unless you've changed with non-OEM parts since new...

    Dealers are really good at figuring this stuff out by looking up the VIN.

    Thanks for the input. I'll take a look later.
    I checked with
    http://www.bernardiparts.com (honda online dealer)
    They can't tell by the VIN but they say TEC is all they stock....
