    Greetings,
I'm getting ready to replace the sending unit on my '97 Civic EX. Has
anyone used the Autometer universal unit?

    220k miles.
I'm not sure it's the sender but the symptoms are that over the last
several months when I fill the tank, the level the gauge reports on a
full tank has steadily dropped and it's now showing about 2/3 full on a
full tank. It drops normally as use gas and it reads empty when I have
about 3-4 gallons left so it's not sticking. It just seems to me that
that float is either not going all the way to the top or the pot is not
    giving the right resistance.

Knowing that Honda has issues with their sending units and that I can
replace it with an aftermarket brand for $30, I figure it's a good
place to start. I understand the problem could also be a voltage
regulator which I can test once I get everything apart, but if I'm
going to take the car apart, I want to have the Autometer sender on
hand if it's worth a crap.
