I have a 97 Crv that has a vibration much like bad wheel balance its most
sever at 55-60 mph. Its less at lower speeds and at 70m its almost gone.
Wheels have been balanced and rebalanced but no change. Whatdo I do next?

i had a prob like this on my 98 civic. Either your tires
are out of round, or you have a suspension problem. (or
    both).

I ended up getting new tires, and an alignment!

Get it up on a lift and check the tires carefully for lumps in the
tread, both front *and* rear. Last time I had this problem (on a Pontiac
wagon) one of the radial belts had snapped in one of my rear tires,
probably from a pothole or the like, and there was a bump that made the
front end shake like crazy up around 50-60 mph. Had no idea it could
have been a rear tire, but I had an excellent mechanic.

If it makes a bad noise when making very slow left-hand U-turns, change
the Dual Pump Fluid in the rear Differential. It needs to be replaced
    every 30,000 miles.

All four tires have to be exactly the same size, or you'll damage the
rear diff. What's your mileage, and is it an Auto, and is it an AWD?
Have you ever changed the tranny fluid?

    Curly,
Don't believe transmission fluid has ever been chaged. 154,000 miles.
Brand new tires and it did the same with the old tires. Its an auto and
    AWD.

Wow, I'd change the tranny fluid at least twice, (use only Honda Z1) a
week apart, and keep in mind that your CRV has EIGHT CV joints, so one
could be loose at that mileage.

The vibration was caused by a bad U joint on end of driveshaft. Not
replacable!! Must buy new driveshaft to the tune of $970.20 No one
    sells replacement u-joints???
