I was planning on changing spark plugs and wires tonight on the 97
accord and realized that there is a buildup of oil when I removed the
third spark plug wire. I have never seen this before. Is this due to
the valve cover gasket seal being worn and as a result it lets oil on
the top part of the spark plug? Cause when I removed the rubber piece
that seats onto the spark plug it seems that it was sitting in a pool
of oil.. However there is no misfiring and the car runs fine, but I
do want to get down to the bottom of this problem,,,

    please help!

    Thx

buy and fit new "b" gaskets. you can buy a kit with everything you need
    here:

do the valve lash while you're in there also.

    See http://home.earthlink.net/~honda.lioness/id3.html for
the most likely, two possible causes of this.
