How doyou get the maintenance required light to go off?

I think it's: turn the ignition to ON while holing the odometer reset
botton for 10 secs. It should be in your manual.

You wave your hands authoritatively in front of the car, while chanting
"abra-cadabra!". Or maybe it's "hocus pocus"...

Actually, I'm kidding (could you tell?).

  4. Hold the car upside down and shake it.

I think the easiest way would be to give the light indicator a few blows
    with a hammer.

push and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and then turn the car on...I
think (well sometimes) my dealership looks after things like that for me.
    I'm lazy. haha

  7. But my technique doesn't smash the dash!

I agree. Just put green tape on top of the indicator so that it looks green
and doesn't bother you. Even better than my first suggestion. Dash remains
    safe!
