    Hi there,

I own a 99 Civic EX Coupe, 70K miles on it, mostly highway miles. I
live in Chicago where we have harsh winters and hot summers.

Our baby is on the way and I want to take care of the car before he
comes so that I do not deal with it anymore later on. I am planning to
    replace the following:

air filter, timing belt, water pump, trans fluid, check other belts,
check suspension and chassis, flush coolant. The last major
maintenance was at 60K but not too much done except brake work.

Are there other things that you can think of that may be taken care of
while the car is in the shop?

Also I do not want to take it to the dealer (I usually take it to
Fletcher Jones on Clark), has anybody had good luck with a local
mechanic, especially in Wrigleyville or Andersonville area?

Any response is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
