A/C problem in Honda Civic 99 (refrigerant)

  1. Hi guys,

Basically, the problem was a month ago when I noticed that A/C system
was not delivering cool air during hot days. One day I noticed some
vapor coming through the vents when AC was on.

So I purchased R134a recharge kit with leak protection (50,000 miles)
and recharged the system. System was definitely empty but I don't
remember low pressure reading. I reached around 28 psi refrigerant at
low pressure quick joint with running AC full power (ambient temp was
around 65F at this time). I have put over 2 cans of refrigerant.
However, I noticed that compressor would go on/off cycle very often
when AC was on. Any idea what is wrong with it? Did I put too much
refrigerant into my AC system? How much refrigerant should I put - how
    much PSI?

    Thanks in advance.

At such a low temp (65) it is likely to cycle a little more than at a higher
temp because the thermostat in the evaporator box will kick the compressor
off to keep the evaporator from freezing over.

  3. It turns on/off compressor even at 80-85F temperature quite often
    making a ride jerky.
